Housing Health Equity Initiative: ALA awarded L.A. Care’s Housing Equity Innovation Grant
Affordable Living for the Aging (ALA) is honored to share that we have been selected as one of 12 recipients of L.A. Care’s Housing Health Equity Initiative, designed to better address the needs of populations that are disproportionately impacted by homelessness in L.A. County. L.A. Care Health Plan has committed $3 million to support housing equity and retention through its Housing Equity Initiative.
ALA was one of three recipients of their Innovation Grant Award, which supports organizations with innovative approaches to address housing placement, retention, and insecurity. Funds will enable ALA to expand our Home Share program to help create more affordable housing units and enable seniors to age in place. ALA’s Home Share program was ALA’s inaugural program, established in 1978. Since our inception, we have placed over 2500 individuals in shared housing arrangements.
ALA is extremely grateful to L.A. Care Health Plan for its leadership in the Los Angeles community. Through their significant investments and support, their contribution will help us significantly impact and reach many more lives in need. To read more about the initiative, please visit lacare.org
